Biennial General Meeting

We held our most recent General Meeting in May, 2010 in Montreal.

Members of our organization met in Montreal to attend advanced lectures about the study, construction, and identification of bows of the Tourte, Pajeot, Pecatte, Mirecourt, Tubbs, and Dodd Schools of bow making.  Presentations also were made on instrument restoration techniques, documenting our work, and on how Amati, Stradivari, Guarneri and Stainer compared and contrasted and influenced later traditions of violins making. Technical presentations on data gathering and acoustical analysis were heard as well.

Our thanks goes to The Canimex Foundation, who made available many fine instruments from their collection during the meetings.  The Canimex instruments were heard in concert with Alexandre Da Costa as well.

Overall, our gathering in Montreal was a great  success.

Our next General Meeting for our members will take place in 2012 at a yet to be determined location.  Please visit our site again for more information.
